Staszic High School

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Final score: 44/45.

International Baccalaureate

I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) at Staszic High School in Lublin, graduating with 44 out of 45 points.

The IB DP is a two-year secondary-school programme built around six academic subjects and a common core. Each subject is assessed through several components rather than a single final test: depending on the course, these can include multiple written examinations, oral assessments, laboratory work, essays, and independent research projects. Students also complete Theory of Knowledge (TOK), an Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS).

Each of the six subjects is graded from 1 to 7, for a maximum of 42 subject points. TOK and the Extended Essay can add up to three core points, bringing the highest possible diploma score to 45.

As a distinction, I was also the high school valedictorian and received Polish Prime Minister’s Scholarship.

Volunteering

From October 2022 to March 2023, I volunteered online as an English language teacher with the Polish Migration Forum Foundation. I was paired with a student and prepared individual English lessons, adapting them to her needs and finding creative ways to make remote learning work.
