ETH Zürich

An rxchange semester through the Swiss European Mobility Programme, spanning artificial intelligence, security, software design, and deep learning.

Exchange studies

I was selected and nominated as one of two students in my year (550 students starting CS each year) for an exchange at ETH Zürich through the Swiss European Mobility Programme. During the semester, I completed 30 credits and received a SEMP Scholarship.

The exchange gave me the opportunity to study across several areas of computer science. Among my courses were:

  • Probabilistic Artificial Intelligence (PAI), covering decision-making and learning under uncertainty
  • Network Security (NS), focused on the principles and mechanisms behind secure networked systems
  • Concepts of Object-Oriented Programming (COOP), examining programming-language design and advanced object-oriented concepts
  • Hands-On Deep Learning, a practical course built around implementing and experimenting with modern neural-network methods

PAI became especially important to me: after completing it during the exchange, I later returned to the course as a teaching assistant during my master’s at ETH.
